The Dutch West India Company Office
This is the former office of the Dutch West India Company which had the monopoly on trade and shipping with North-, South- and Central America and the West Coast of Africa. The present facade dates from 1784. In the pediment at the top of the façade the monogram of the Chartered (G) West India (W) Company (C) Hoorn (H) can be seen. Since 1872 the building has been used as a Masonic lodge.
