Dit valt samen met de terugkeer van het Korps in Rotterdam. De commandant zeestrijdkrachten, luitenant-admiraal C.E.L. Helfrich, decoreert het Korps namens de koningin en herdenkt de in 1940 in Rotterdam gesneuvelde mariniers. De plechtigheden worden afgesloten met een defilé. SHOTS: – mariniers marcheren in colonne door Rotterdam, oa langs stadhuis aan Coolsingel; – vóór het stadhuis staan de mariniers aangetreden; Helfrich hecht een onderscheiding aan het vaandel van het Korps; andere aanwezige militairen staan in de houding of salueren; – bij de Willemsbrug hecht Helfrich een krans aan een monument; – mariniers defileren. The ceremonies end with a procession. SHOTS: – marines march in a column through Rotterdam, a.o. by the city hall at the Coolsingel; – in front of the city hall the marines stand to attention; Helfrich attaches a decoration to the banner of the Corps; other present soldiers stand to attention or salute; – Helfrich attaches a wreath to a monument near the Willems bridge; – marines march past.
