Nieuwe radarinstallatie

De verkeersleiders kunnen met dit apparaat tegelijkertijd hoogte én afstand én richting van binnenkomende vliegtuigen waarnemen. In dit journaal beelden van de manier waarop een verkeersleider een Beechcraft “binnenpraat” mbv de nieuwe radar. SHOTS: – Algemene vliegveldbeelden: op het platform staan vliegtuigen geparkeerd; stationsgebouw en verkeerstoren; – int. verkeerstoren: verkeersleiders zitten bij de ramen achter hun apparatuur; – ext. van het draaibare gebouwtje waarin de apparatuur van de nieuwe radar is ondergebracht; – int. gebouwtje: verticaal en horizontaal geplaatste paraboolantennes; hoge stalen kasten met technische apparaten met meters en knoppen; achter een bedieningspaneel zit de verkeersleider; – piloten in de cockpit van een tweemotorig vliegtuig vragen om landingsinstructies; de verkeersleider leest zijn schermen af en geeft aanwijzingen; – het vliegtuig vliegt aan op Schiphol en landt; – een Constellation komt aanvliegen en nadert de landingsbaan.
