Rijkstelegraaf bestaat honderd jaar

In Den Haag is, tgv dit feit, een tentoonstelling ingericht over berichtenverkeer vroeger en nu. SHOTS: – Een gelukstelegram wordt aangeboden bij een loket in een postkantoor, waarna een telegrafiste de tekst uittypt op een telegraaf; uit de zijkant van de machine rolt een smalle papierstrook met de gedrukte tekst; – int. tentoonstellingszaal: op de muur een kopie van een historische wettekst betreffende telegraafverkeer; in een historisch overzicht wordt het begin en de uitbreiding van het telegraafverkeer in de loop van de tijd in beeld gebracht: div. oude en nieuwe apparaten worden gedemonstreerd, beginnende met een historisch morseseintoestel, eindigend met een moderne telex; – ext. moderne apparatuur; cu van relaisschakelaars; – technici zitten achter bedieningspanelen; – in een zaal zitten rijen telegrafistes, met hoofdtelefoons en microfoons, achter hun toestellen. For this occassion an exhibition about communication now and then is held in The Hague. SHOTS: – A congratulatory telegram is handed in at the counter of the post office, after which a telegrapher types out the text on a telegraph; a small strip of paper with the printed text comes out of the side of the machine; – int. exhibition room: on the wall a copy of a historic text of a law on telegraphic communication; in a historical timeline the beginning and the expansion of the telegraphic communication through the years is shown: several old and new machines are demonstrated, starting with a historic Morse apparatus and ending with a modern telex; – ext. modern machines; cue of relay connectors; van relaisschakelaars; – technicians are seated behind the control panels; – in a room rows of telegraphers, with headsets and microphones, are seated behind their machines.
