Een student zoekt kameradvertenties in een krant uit en anderen vragen bij een speciaal huisvestingbureau naar kamers. Studenten hebben tijdelijk onderdak gevonden in een huis dat op de nominatie staat om afgebroken te worden. Bij het Amstelstation staat het studentenhuis Casa Academica en ook elders in de stad worden studentenflats gebouwd. Vanwege de kamernood gaan studenten met spandoeken de straat op en op de Dam zit een student in een ton.
